Dr. Rainwater is an interventional cardiologist who joined The Denver Cardiology Group (which has since merged into Aurora Denver Cardiology Associates) at Presbyterian/ St. Lukes and Saint Joseph Hospitals after two years on the faculty of the University of Colorado and a year of practice in Albuquerque. He began doing “interventional” cardiac procedures in 1983 soon after balloon angioplasty was introduced in the U.S. Over the years since then he has incorporated directional atherectomy, extractional atherectomy, rotational atherectomy, excimer laser angioplasty and, of course, stent placement into his practice.
Dr. Rainwater has traveled to clinics in western Kansas and Nebraska several days each month for over twenty years and a large proportion of his patients come from these areas outside metropolitan Denver (Boulder was even a Denver Cardiology Group “outreach site” at one time). He feels that the opportunity to care for both urban and “non-urban” patients has made his work uniquely rewarding. Professional Experience Education |
